This book would be very helpful in crafting a personal etiquetteroutine. The authors explain a variety of strategies advisingextended guests to keep a low profile & pitch in. The authorsadvise us to keep our voices low in public places. They alsoexplain the importance of smiling and greeting people. Occasionally, it may be necessary to notify neighbors of partying-particularly extensive engagements where there are manypeople involved. Politeness and giving up a bus/train seatmay be in order. There are occasions where a toast is in orderjust prior to the commencement of a meal. In a restaurant, it is proper to raise your hand to signal a waiter rather than making loud and disruptive noises. In addition, proprietors must realizethat customers have rights. This book would be helpful for any person looking to add a touch of culture and refinement to theconduct of life and pursuits thereof.
Perfect Mod Etiquette Book !!

A very nice complement to my Emily Post Etiquette book. I use Emily's guidance for more formal matters and use Charlotte's for situations that are more current. I had the sad occasion to write a sympathy note recently. I didn't even know how to begin. Charlotte's book was so helpful, it got me started and then guided me how to personalize my sentiment. It's also just a plain, old fun read!
Modern, Breezy Read

While every well-mannered person understands the rudiments of good etiquette, Charlotte Ford's book assumes that. She does not speak down or preach to the reader, which other books in this category tend to do.I always have that occassion when I forget where to place the dessert spoon on a table setting and I found the section on dating very helpful.

In today's world it seems the last thing on everyone's mind are manners and civility. This book touches on all facets of modern manners, everything from cell phone etiquitte to appropriate wardrobe for funerals. An especially helpful section in the book which deals with removing one's foot from one's mouth. This was the most helpful section of the book. You will be able to recover with some grace and diginity if you ever say the wrong thing.
