trust me, this is a great one!- i've read all the chick lit authors and in this genre, this is my favourite book so far!- it is extremely well written and is clever and fun- i found it totally rivetting anf interesting- i fell in love with the main character, shelley and her boyfriend and her family- they were so believable- i could not put it down, read it in 2 days- and i actually missed reading about shelley a week after i finished it, even while reading another book- (which wasn't as good)- very bright authors which shows in their writing skill and diction etc- i can't wait for their next collaboration!
Fast Paced and Funny -- but educational too -- Awesome "GIFT" book -- Happy Holidays...

I loved 24 KARAT KIDS and if it hadn't been for my two gold-PLATED kids interrupting me I could've finished it in one sitting because I never wanted to put it down. While the novel will obviously appeal to mommy types and pediatricians, it will also have plenty of relevance for the childless of the world who can never fully escape the fallout from the population explosion no matter how hard they try. Teachers, waiters, bus drivers, psychologists, police officers, sales clerks, hotel maids, theme park managers, theater ushers, zoo keepers, window washers -- pretty much anyone NOT living under a rock can relate to the colorful characters and crazy situations so vividly brought to life in this collaborative work by author Sebastian Stuart and renowned pediatrician, Dr. Judy Goldstein. 24 KARAT KIDS follows the truly admirable Dr. Shelly Green, a smart, determined, and self-confident young woman as she begins her pediatrics practice, one that requires her to accept responsibility for the lives of tiny infants and innocent children without even having had the pleasure of getting knocked up first. I've always admired women so strong and sensible -- from afar whenever possible, for me just putting on a wraparound skirt is enough of a challenge. Witty and fast-paced, 24 KARAT KIDS is nonstop fun with realistically-evolving characters, and while it is wildly entertaining, it's also highly informative on loads of stuff, including pediatric issues. I mean, who knew the reason babies cried so darned much was because their brains were small and disorganized? Now while knowing that might not prevent the mom of a colicky baby from sticking her head in the oven or drinking from a bottle herself, if she shares that tidbit with everyone who hassles her about her baby's howling it might at least shut THEM up. For a while, anyway. Some say that laughter is the best medicine for whatever ails you and I agree. So if you know what's good for you, grab a copy of 24 KARAT KIDS quick! And let the self-medication begin! Great gift for MOMS, PEDIATRICIANS AND OTHER MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, TEACHERS, NEW YORKERS, THE RICH AND FAMOUS, THE HUDDLED ('round the tv) MASSES, WRITERS, CIRCUS PERFORMERS,VENTRILOQUISTS, MAYTAG REPAIRMEN or just about anyone who likes to read and NOT weep....
Excellent Summer Read

This book made me laugh and ponder the shallowness of our culture. His characters came to life. As an avid reader, I just was so engaged in the book that I was unable to put it down. We all have book in which we can relate to the main character. Sebastien Stuart is extremely insightful...if you are a fan of Woody Allen's (who reviewed this book), you will be a fan of this book, and its author.
Great!

I loved this book. It was interesting to go into the "office" of Shelley and see all her quirky clients. The best part of this book is how it's short and sweet. It doesn't drag on and on and the resolution of her dilemmas are solved quickly. It never got boring for me!
Right On...A Great Read

I couldn't put this book down! As a former New Yorker with a former sense of high entitelment I found this glimpse into the life of my children's former pediatrician ( they grew up) enlightening. It is a quick read ( I couldn't put it down) and very well written. Perfect for summer reading, especially if you are in the Hamptons, have kids or simply want to peek into the life of New York's Upper East Side.
