Clear pictures and patterns for any quilt project!
Published by Mom4ResQ , 2 months ago
I’m new to the quilt “project” world.
Since moving to a small town with all the wonderful wood barn quilts I’ve seen telling their family stories in such a beautiful way I can’t wait to make our own! This book has sooooo many ideas and clear patterns that it will help tremendously! The names of the patterns listed are a great addition as well. Oddly, some books don’t add the name of the pattern. I’m off to the store with these patterns to get started!!!
Highly recommend this book for beginners and pros alike!
very old school

very old school and no rotary cutting
Am I missing something, or is it the book??

The book gives measurements for the quilt portion, but no cutting sizes are included for the 4” blocks! Sure, I can decipher most of them, but what the heck did I buy the book for if I have to do the measurement footwork?!? Each block tells you you’ll need “x” number of this or that section, which is readily apparent to even a non quilter, but no cutting size for each patch. I’m VERY disappointed.
Great for A Block You’re Looking For!

I’ve had this book for quite some time. It’s got lots of blocks, lots of categories, and if you want to make a special quilt of your own for someone special, this might be the book you’re looking for. There’s a set of alphabet blocks, too. You could make an entire quilt with someone’s name!
501 Quilt Blocks....

I was somewhat disappointed since only 4" blocks; however, directions for enlarging included but not what I was looking for. Beautiful illustrations.

This is a great book to have in your library if you quilt...there are so many blocks in color and different settings.
Only ONE pattern book? This is it!
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 22 years ago
This is my all time favorite pattern book!! If I could only afford one pattern book, I hope that is not so, this would be it! Loaded with 250 pages of patterns for patchwork, appliqué and many are easily adaptable to foundation piecing. Blocks are shown in 4" size but I have enlarged them on a copier with great success. Each of the blocks are shown in clear concise color photos. There are many wonderful themes scattered throughout the book, including: Teatime, Thirties, Flowers, Noah's Ark, and every holiday you can think of. The Preface offers 40 different projects you could make with these blocks, including wearable art.
This book is addicting!

The minute I saw this book, I had to have it. The directions were very clear. The book did not repeat basic topics that seem to take up just 1/3 of just about every quilt book I ever read, yet it would be appropriate for beginners or advanced quilters. It provided more patterns than I have ever seen in one quilt book. Both traditional and brand new ideas were presented. My favorite quilt block was the one with the rotary cutter.
So much to see, can't put it away

This is a good book to get inspired. Wonderfull just to look at all the patterns, some are difficult to make. I also use it when somebody mentions a block and I don't what they mean.
Best pattern source available.

This book is a must have for any quilter. There are so many blocks that the cost is unbelieveable if you figure what you would pay for that many patterns elsewhere. My mother even bought this book after she saw mine...and she doesn't even quilt (yet). My 4 year old calls it mommy's best coloring book. I can't think of a better gift for anyone that sews.
