If you like Deanna Gist, this will not disappoint. Most similar to her first book, A Bride Most Begrudging, so if you like that one, then you will like this one (Well, if you like any of her books, you'd like this one). Fun read, keeper for my shelf instead of giving it away.

I have read all of Gist's books and found this to be another complete delight! I look forward to each of her books. She has an amazing ability to tell a story. I could not put this book down. I couldn't wait to get to the end, but then I was disappointed that it was over. I cannot wait to see her next book come out!
absolutely delightful

I have enjoyed all of Deanne Gist's books, but this one is my favorite by a mile. It is lighthearted, and really, the best word I can think of to describe it is precious - it is reminiscent of "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," in that the characters are realistic and human, but also fanciful and truly of the fictional world. As I read it, I found myself trying to put on the brakes because it was going by too quickly...but I just couldn't put it down. It has been two days since I have finished it, and I am still kind of sad that it is over and that another book like it may not be coming out for a long time.
Another Excellent Deeanne Gist Book!

If you enjoy Deeanne's book then you will again feel this is another excellent book! It is written when Seattle, WA was just a Territory and the main character comes West thinking she is going to be just a cook. This is complicated by the fact that she has had her passage paid for by a man who thinks he has a "bride" coming for him. He NEEDS this bride to keep his acreage and his lumbermill that he has worked YEARS for ... then to complicate matters, of course, he ends up falling in love with her. I enjoyed this book ... and where is was not a deep book it was a fun book to read ... sometimes it is nice to read a lightheartbook that one just enjoys to read for no reason at all except to enjoy and this book is one of those! Deeanne's books often are this type of book ... they aren't deep but they give you a good feeling and are easy to read and enjoyable with good characters!
