An Icon Through His Daughter’s Eyes

Just watched the new George Carlin documentary on HBO and I kept thinking about this book. An artist of this magnitude could never emerge from a simple life. Kelly Carlin offers an authentic window into the complexity of that artist as her father and his bonded soul mate, her mother. The pain is real but not exploitative. Carlin was one of one, and this behind the curtain look at his fragile nature is revealing, engaging, and inescapably sad. We miss him every day, as does she, no matter what.
