Although the cover states that " A Companion Reader of Ten Christmas Stories" is meant to be enjoyed by children from 2 to 10 years old, this 60-plus grandpa found the stories to be very interesting, as well. Additionally, I think that the grandkids had a great time listening to them too. Mr. McTaggart has written a good assortment of wholesome tales that come with good moral points. They're short enough so you can string 2 or 3 of them together if the kids ask for "just one more."Another interesting feature that I haven't seen in any children's book is in the table of contents. The author supplies reading times for each story! Believe me, that comes in handy if the little ones have to go to bed at a certain time! The book is bound with very sturdy covers, to make it relatively kid-resistant, as well. (as if anything could be!) It's also generously illustrated with black- and-white drawings. Try it, and I think you and the young ones will both have a very enjoyable experience!
