A Comprehensive History of Ambazonia from its Discovery to Independence and Annexation to Contemporary Issues: History of Ambazonia from its Discovery ... due to Annexation (Histories of Ambazonia)
A Comprehensive History of Ambazonia from Discovery through Independence and Annexation to Contemporary Issues subtitled History of Ambazonia from its Discovery through to the Current Plights due to Annexation a commemoration of the achievements of great and courageous individuals such as Hanno the Navigator, Alfred Saker, General Charles Dobell, Barrister Fon Gorji-Dinka, Professor Bernard Fonlon, Mr. Albert Mukong, Ebenezar Akwanga, Mancho BBC, Dr. Neba Fontem who taught me at the University of Buea, Barrister Agbor Balla, Honourable Joseph Wirba and Mr. Tassang Wilfred and many other individuals and the teams that assisted them as they worked hard to establish and protect the identity and de-annexation of the people of Ambazonia. The book is the second in the Histories of Ambazonia series and starts with an introduction which highlights the salient aspects of the history of Ambazonia how it was discovered to a description of its physical nature, international boundaries and neighbours, constituent counties, who an Ambazonian is and an overview of the current plight of the Ambazonians and how it came about. This is followed by the early history of Ambazonia from its discovery by Hanno the Navigator in about 500 BC, to the founding of the Ambas Bay Colony in 1858 by Alfred Saker which later becomes the British Ambas Bay Protectorate in 1884 and was ceded to German Kamerun as were other regions from the Treaty of Fez, the First World War and the division of all of German Kamerun into what are today Ambazonia, Cameroon, the Sarduna State of Nigeria and parts of Chad, Gabon, CAR and Congo and the establishment of League of Nations Mandates, and highlighting the capture of the Ambazonian territory by General Charles Dobell and his WAFF forces and the establishment of the international boundaries of Ambazonia. This is followed by the history of Ambazonia from the UN trusteeship to Britain in 1946 to the 1961 plebiscite. Next is a step by step analysis of the lead-up to the independence of Ambazonia and its later annexation by the Republic of Cameroon in disregard of international law. This is followed by the attempts of Ambazonians to reclaim their stolen sovereignty and right to self a determination through de-annexation which will also preserve their cultural heritage. This is followed by the ongoing resistance since October 2016 that has been characterized by peaceful demonstrations, strike actions, one-to-two-day weekly ghost town operations and effective boycotts of all international and the occupying government's national holidays, schooling, the courts and the parliament by a true representative of his people and their plights, Honourable Joseph Wirba who made a very powerful resistance speech at the occupying government's parliament before leaving it. The will of the Ambazonians which are in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and several resolutions and declarations of the United Nations and the African Union and their organs, have been met both historically and currently with impunity including dozens of killings and gang-rapes; attack of homes, the pulling out of Ambazonians from their homes, beating and rubbing them in mud; indiscriminate opening of fire with live ammunitions, maiming, rampant arrests and abductions of Ambazonians away from their country to unknown destinations were most are tortured and killed, indescriminate spraying of water canons and tear gas; the shutdown of internet services all over Ambazonia for 93 days; the mass sending of threats by the government through SMS and the abduction and prosecution of outspoken Ambazonians and the leaders of their Teachers and Lawyers trade unions after failing to intimidate them at negotiations; and forcing many others into exile from where they still continue the Ambazonian cause for emancipation. The book closes with a bibliography which lists the additional sources of information in the book, whose authors and teams I am appreciative of.
