An elderly anal-retentive engineer imposes arbitrary decade boundaries not only on his own life, but also on historical events which occurred during that interval. "Decadent" is used in the title in the manner which "important" might be used. If it had import, then it'd be important. Since it has decades, therefore it's decadent.If the admittedly tongue-in-cheek title led you to expect prurience or pornography, please pardon. But since you've read this far, why not venture a bit farther into this amateur treatise full of amateur history and amateur sociology, presented with tolerably good grammar?
