My almost sister-in-law thought I, Lizabett McDonald, would be the first of the Sisterhood of the Dropped Stitches to marry? True, I've confided to my friends that I've had a crush on Rick Keifer since childhood. But will he ever see me as more than his best friend's kid sister? The Sisterhood wants to give me a beauty makeover to catch his eye. I've been preoccupied with a spiritual makeover, and with starting my own wedding-planning business--no time for romance. Yet with Rick as best man, maybe as I give Marilee her dream wedding, my own dreams will also come true
I have been an avid follower of Janet Tronstad's Dropped Stitches series. I'm sad to know that it's over, but I loved this last book. These books spoke about friendship and courage and overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles. This fourth book is about the youngest member of the Dropped Stitches Sisterhood, a support group of four women who underwent treatment for cancer while still in their teens. Lizabett, as the youngest member of the group, thinks that no one will ever realize that she's grown up, especially not her brother's friend Rick, who she's secretly loved for years. So she's surprised when her brother and his fiancee, Dropped Stitches member Marilee, allow her to plan their wedding. She's determined to give Marilee the wedding of her dreams, even if she has very little money to work with. Then Marilee reveals that she's found a lump and fears her breast cancer has returned. They move up the wedding date and Lizabett must move ahead quickly with her plans while still being there as a vital support person for her brother and Marilee. She's forced to turn to Rick for help, even though her seemingly unrequited feelings for him make that painful. If you haven't read these books I'd recommend starting at the beginning and reading all the way through. I'm actually thinking of starting at the beginning again and re-reading them all. Even though this series is over, there's always Janet Tronstad's long running Dry Creek series to read. I've heard there's a new one coming out soon.
