Amazing Resource

I have a lot of plant identification and information guides and this is by far the best in my collection. You'll need another book to tell you how to use plants if you're looking to wildcraft, but the images and indexes in this book have given me the tools to identify everything on my property (something the Internet and image searches failed to do!). I recommend this book 100%!

Great Book for Homeschoolers

Anyone interested in edible plants would love this book. It offers easy to understand descriptions via text as well as pictures. My child is eight and he understands it perfectly. We have already located and identified, Sassafras, Birch as well as several other plants. We can't wait to take our next hike.

I loved this book

I liked how it showed the simular plants bside each other. Like poisonius ones beside the safe ones/.

Great reference book, highly recommend it

The line drawings coupled with the color pictures in the book make it a great resource. But the author should take color pictures of the flower AND leaves, so one can identify the plant if it isn't flowering.

Excellent book for identifying wild edibles.

This is a must have for the edible wild plant enthusiast. It has basic easy to use indentification functions, used in most Peterson field guides. Although short on how to prepare and use the plants, it is big on basic information, ease of use, and how to.

The best of the East

I teach wild edible plants and this is the best identification book for the Eastern and Centeral states that I have found. It has very good line drawings and some good color pictures in a section by themselves. It has graphig symbols showing how each plant can be used.
