I don't know who "A Reader From Moscow" is (unless they are in the book, but I followed the investigation and trial and saw Brotherton's part for myself). I saw the Alan Katz show in New Orleans and when he said it was the best political book he had ever read, I ordered it. After receiving the book, I read it all the way through without putting it down. I was expecting a "tell all" expose' and got a lot more than that. Now my wife is reading it. I very strongly recommend it, especially for the entertainment value. This would make a good movie, I think.

Normally don't read books on politics and gambling but came across this one with some influential people mentioned on the cover. Started reading and couldn't put it down. As one reviewer mentioned the S & L industry scandle, I too feel this is very similar. Everyone should read this to understand that not everyone in high places and TV are really who they try to portray. Full of adventure and suspense. Good book and will recommend to everyone!
Finally some real light on the casino business

Recieved this book from a friend over Thanksgiving, could not stop reading until I found out the ending. This reminds me of the Saving and Loan scandle a few years back. What a great story line. Thank you Mr. Brotherton for this look into the mysterious world of casinos.

This book moved me and that's not easy at 310 lbs. This bookwill probably make you cry and laugh and maybe even smoke a cigarette(even if you don't smoke). This story was good to read and I woulddefinitely recommend it. It made me miss a day of work (and I'm selfemployed). It will make you feel good about being alive and inlove.

This is a wonderful book. It is written by a man who has been through really trying times but has come out on top. I know that every word of this book is true, however you really put that aside and feel as though you are reading a fantastic thrilling piece of fiction. Knowing that John and his wife Susan actually experienced every emotion and had to deal with those moment by moment and make a life or death decision so many times will keep you very close to this book until the very end.Give this one a try. It will enlighten you about Louisana Politics, the part private business and yes even celebrities play in the gambling industry in Louisiana the USA and even Russia. There is a little romance for the romantic.Thanks John for the good read.
