This book isn't a collection of short stories or one long one - rather it is writings about some of the cats (and their quirks) the author has known and loved. For example, her first cat, who became paralyzed and was supposed to be put down, but eventually made a full recovery; stories of blind cats and how they adapted; the story of a cat who liked to herd his owner in the evening chores; cats who were friends with one another; cats who had to be nursed through illnesses, and all sorts of cute, funny, sad, moving, experiences with cats that anyone who has truly loved cats will enjoy. I am new to cat ownership myself and yet based on a few months of living with two of them, I really was able to relate to and enjoy each story. The writing is also good, focusing on the cats rather than the owner or anything else.
