Covering eighteenth century architecture through the twentieth century, this book examines more than two hundred structures across New Orleans, including the Vieux Carr 1/2, the Bayou St. John area, and the Garden District. The guide also incorporates a section on churches, public buildings, and St. Charles houses. Each structure is accompanied by a brief description and building date.
Samuel Wilson, Jr., the former chairman of the guide book committee of the New Orleans AIA (American Institute of Architects), compiled the information. Maps, which are keyed to the numbers of buildings, enable the reader to easily locate each establishment.
