Bear Fascination

This book was on the mantle of the Hospice where my dad passed on. Bears were always fascinating to him and he shot a bear in Canada. I had a vision given to me by God shortly after he died in October 2009. I saw my dad walking by a lake with a young bear beside him much like a companionship of a dog. I went out to the waiting area, looked over at the fireplace and there on the mantle was this book! The artwork first caught my eye and as I flipped through, it was so beautifully illustrated, and with many pictures of bears. I showed a few of my family members and told them the story. I then bought about a dozen copies and gave them to loved ones at Christmas. When I sat down and began reading my copy, how soon I realized Dee Appel's love for nature and how she sees God's presence in it as well. Her descriptive, vivid words brought me to peaceful, serene scenes. Incredibly, well written! This book holds a special place in my heart. Dalene Norgaard Ankeny,IA
