From A Naked Lunch: "People say that America is new. As if it suddenly appeared ex nihilo when the Fucking psychotic Calvinists-the pilgrims appeared. As if the land suddenly appeared for them. The United States is relatively young, just a couple hundred years. But America, the earth, the land, the soil is very, very old, Kiki...Before the white man, before the red skin, even when it was unoccupied by humans the evil, yes, the evil was there in the land itself lay the true evil, just waiting to pop out. Interzone is a dying city, like Death in Venice, But America is in Full swing and soon it's intrinsic evil will spread and spread across this great land of ours it's becoming Interzone, only more unreal and cruel, that's America in two word: cruelty and greed, which of course leads to Fascism whose seed has been planted long ago and is slowly coming to fruition. America is like the dad that sneaks into his children's rooms and rapes them in the dark and then makes them promise on penalty of death not to say anything and to act normal. That's what America is all about: It all comes down to power. Who commands and who obeys. Who eats filet mignon and who is force fed his own vomit. America is a Fucking diseased cunt...but she's mine. I am part of the evil even in my exile I'm contributing my part to perpetuate that evil. Yes, I do my part...my part...in this farce. "
