If you haven't read Kingsley before, this is a great place to start. I began this book at 10:30 p.m. and couldn't stop until finishing it at 3:30 a.m. Edward isn't the most attractive hero you'll ever meet. His emotional scars run deep and his behavior is frequently awful. Nevertheless, Kingsley shows you why he became the man he is and why Eliza might fall in love with him. You have to love Eliza's sly wit, too. I laughed out loud when she played the "cork-brained idiot" for him. Kingsley has written a wonderful story where the conflict comes from within and the pain felt by the characters will grab at your heart. Don't miss this one!
