1994 University of Arizona Press trade PB. An Arizona original, Sharlot Hall was the first woman to hold office in the territory, historian, poet, pioneer, and feminist. Author: Margaret F. Maxwell. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book was written about Sharlot Hall, a relative by marriage. Sharlot was a remarkable woman and Margaret Maxwell did an excellent job of capturing the type of individual Sharlot was: Brave, courageous, adventurous, great deal of strength and a 'fighter for freedom'. She is a big reason we have the Arizona Strip. There are other books on Sharlot, but this one is extremely well done. We spoke with Margaret in the beginning of her research, so it's somewhat of a 'personal' story as well. A Passion for Freedom: The Life of Sharlot Hall
