Doctor Brett Hardy was leaving St. Luke's Hospital to take up the job of his dreams, but first he had two things to do. He must apologise to Sister Janet Morlet for having been so unforgivably rude to her in Theatre that morning. Then he must consult a marriage bureau, for one essential qualification for his new post was that he must be a happily married man. He was forestalled, however, by Sister Morlet herself. Due to leave St. Luke's too, to be married, she had been jilted at the last moment, and now begged Brett to help her get another job, away from the district. It seemed a heaven-sent opportunity, and when Brett suggested that she might be very suitable for the post of his wife, Janet numbly accepted. But would such a neat solution to the problem make either of them really happy?
