An excellent primer on the fundamentals of linear algebra
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 17 years ago
Matrix theory is a very large field, but the first steps are very basic and can be taught to people with limited experience in mathematics. However, those fundamental principles must be known very well if you are to succeed in the upper levels of matrix theory. In this book, the authors have done an excellent job in demonstrating the basics of matrices. The topics covered are how matrices are constructed, the fundamental operations that are performed on them and how to use matrices to solve some basic problems. There is very little of what could be described as "abstract mathematics" in the book. Practice exercises appear at the ends of the sections and solutions to some of them are included in an appendix. This book is an excellent primer on linear algebra and can be understood by anyone with a basic knowledge of algebra.
