Whilst looking through his contact sheets, Benge noticed one picture that reminded him of work by Friedlander, and another by someone else. Usually this would be cause for rejection. But Benge did the opposite - seeking out his own, original images that were accidentally in the style of others to form an 'anthology' of contemporary photography 'featuring' some of its biggest names. The resulting work is both a serious and light-hearted exploration of photographic style.
