Karina has never been a normal middle school kid. At school, the girls make her feel worthless. They talk behind her back, call her names and trip her on her birthday. All she wants is love, for someone to care and someone to listen to her. It was always like this until her 13th birthday when she moves rooms at her orphanage. She lays awake in bed that night staring through the bare tree into the sky. Everywhere she looks a small bright light twinkles, some shooting through the sky. She begins to fall asleep as she counts the stars. She drifts to sleep with a dream that changes everything. Each night revealing a part of her past.
