Dog rescue is one of the largest underground movements in America. It is also one of the least understood. This insider look at the culture of dog rescue begins with Kotler's personal experience... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book has everything: love, hope, angst, pain, humor, success, failure, love and yes, the meaning of life. I loved this story, how two intelligent adults could spend all their money, sleep under a pile of special needs small dogs, and live a life of giving and receiving an infinite amount of love. I want to give a copy to everyone I know.
Fido knows.

One of the best books I have ever read.
Kotler not only discusses the nuts and bolts of establishing and running a rescue and a sanctuary for "unplaceable" Chihuahuas, but the deep spirituality he and his wife share with those dogs. He introduces us to the science behind the dynamics of canine social structure and of the human-canine bond, and helps us understand the ways dogs can teach us more about humanity and devotion than another human being ever could.
Not what I expected

Next time I will look up the book online & do a little research on what the story is all about. I did read approximately the first six chapters.
