A Wall Street Journal Best Science Fiction Book of 2018
"Just try to put this gripping thriller down once you pick it up." --AARP
"A shock on every other page." --Wall Street Journal
How far would you go to find The One?
A simple DNA test is all it takes. Just a quick mouth swab and soon you'll be matched with your perfect partner--the one you're genetically made for.
That's the promise made by Match Your DNA. A decade ago, the company announced that they had found the gene that pairs each of us with our soul mate. Since then, millions of people around the world have been matched. But the discovery has its downsides: test results have led to the breakup of countless relationships and upended the traditional ideas of dating, romance and love.
Now five very different people have received the notification that they've been "Matched." They're each about to meet their one true love. But "happily ever after" isn't guaranteed for everyone. Because even soul mates have secrets. And some are more shocking than others...
A word-of-mouth hit in the United Kingdom, The One is a fascinating novel that shows how even the simplest discoveries can have complicated consequences.
Don't miss other suspenseful reads from John Marrs (you'll never see the twists coming ): The Marriage Act The Vacation The Family Experiment The One
I really enjoyed The One and found it hard to put it down. This book has everything; love, betrayal, lies, kidnapping, pregnancy, and a serial killer, but not in the way you expect.
The Story follows the lives of five different people who submitted their DNA to a company called MatchMyDNA.com in the hopes of finding their own true love.
Interesting concept which made for an intriguing read.

I absolutely loved this book!!! My all time favorite, my first John Marrs books and can't wait to read more. I read it in 1 day, I enjoyed the different story lines. I had to pick my jaw up off the ground countless times. Loved it
BookTok recommended it

BookTok recommended it, and I do to! If 23andMe and Tinder had a baby they would create the technology found in this book. Every chapter continues the story of one of the five individuals it follows; and each chapter ends on a cliff hanger, forcing you to read through the next four chapters to see what happens next. This book may be 500 pages, but it reads like it's only 200 as you have to keep reading to find out what happens next.
This is a great read for mystery lovers, hopeless romantics, and sci-fi enthusiasts alike.
Good Suspense

It was one of just a hand full of free Amazon Prime 1st Read books I read through and enjoyed. Not to say there werent holes & inconsistencies, but they werent so glaring as to ruin the story for me. His other book, Good Samaritan, was also a free 1st Read book that I chose, but could not read past 1st chapter. Would recommend The One, though 😊.

Very interesting concept. Story gripped my attention through all 500 pages. Binged it like a tv show, can’t wait to read his other books!
