This is a first installment about the creation of Rockview, Wyoming, aspiring to be an oasis of peace following a bloody and divisive war. The story features Fast Draw Eddie Renoir, a jack of all trades gunfighter slash gambler who meets a disgraced Army officer, Lt. Dan Burkhead, the Coward of Benton Creek, in a backwater saloon in Cheyenne. Together, they help build an outpost and saloon/dance hall that becomes the center of the new town of Rockview, named for the Promitory Point rock they stood on when they forged their alliance. Then, six years later, a woman comes to town, J.C.(Jane Carol)Munrow, an expert faro dealer who wins Fast Draw's heart but can't marry him due to his dangerous line of work as sheriff. With any saddle tramp and two bit hustler looking to gun him down, the situation becomes impossible when she finds she is with child and has to make a fateful decision that impacts the lives of two men.
