Brief summary:- Quaker-raised young woman enticed into marriage by unscrupulous womanizer.
This could have been much better than it was. The background is interesting but the leading characters are inconsistent, the male in particular given to unjustified wild swings in his attitude. The peripheral presence of his mistress Is not satisfactorily resolved. Loose ends like this are usually the mark of a new writer. I hope this is the case here.
