Very helpful

Thank you Dr Otto. My grandfather was the engineer, James W. Smith, on the Texarkana Hussy. It gave me more insight to what happened to him while y'all were in the POW camp and on your forced march.

Memoir of a remarkable life

I am privileged to have met Robert W. Otto, and to have obtained an autographed copy of his recently published memoir, A Walk With God. Bob Otto's story begins in 1922 in rural Idaho and continues to this day in Seattle, Washington, where he is a retired veterinarian, missionary, pastor, and family man. During WWII, while serving the U.S. as a tail gunner in a B-24 bomber, he was shot down and severely burned before parachuting into enemy territory. He was interred by the Germans in Stalag Luft 4 for a year where he faced unspeakable conditions and deprivations. During his time as a POW and throughout his lifetime his faith in his sovereign God has taught him truths he now shares with us as we face our own struggles. I thank Dr Otto for sharing what he has learned and believe his book will bless all who read the story of this lovely man, his remarkable life, and his faith in God, the "True North" of his life.

Brought tears to my eyes!

The stories of WWII veterans need to be told and shared. I hope people will buy this book, share it with others and continue to teach their children about our American Hero's. This man is a true Hero. Kudo's to the Austrian people and especially Josef Schutzenhofer for making this miracle happen. Dr.Otto has a great sense of humor and a great faith that indeed saw him through many horrifying times. His love for his family is very apparent and his story is very sweet and memorable. It touched my heart and I beleive it will touch your's too! Robyn Nordsven

a moving story

What an amazing story! Interesting insights into World War II, being captured his plane was shot down and sent to Stalag Luft IV, then being forced on the 500 mile German Death March - which I'd never heard of. God worked through the author's life with transparency and deep love. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in reading about World War II or about how God moves through our lives.
