A Williamsburg Household by Joan Anderson is a realistic view of slavery in the colonial capitol of Virginia. The photograps are excellent and will provoke a greater understanding of the difference in lifestyles between the landed gentry and their "possessions." This book would serve to illuminate other historical data, and be an excellent preparation or reminder of what is experienced in Colonial Williamsburg. A valuable tool!
