Doris manages to teach the reader a new lesson about life during her time, with the turn of every page. For a person who has never been "out west" the author of this book supplies a personalized tour through the beauty and spleandor of Montana using vivid imagery and helps us to see it through the eyes of Doris, a true American. I enjoyed every page and felt like I knew Doris personally by the end of the book. I believe the author shares his relationship with this remarkable woman in a touching way, sharing with the reader the way in whcih Doris personally touched his life. Doris's wit, spirit, determination, and steadfastness are an inspiration for us all!
