Simple but moving story

I found this in a used book store and have been searching off and on for her other books for years. The story isn't very orginal:the heroine was raised as a warrior, is being forced into marriage and hates it. But something about the couples chemistry and struggles was fresh and captivating. It's set in Scotland and involves some good political intruge. Ok story line, good writing, character development and flow, good wittiness, and great chemistry.
