What a great read! Two of my frustrations with history books are (1) that the author starts out with a vendetta, point of view, or axe to grind, then only provides that data which supports the distorted conclusion the author intends to draw, or (2)the history contains the battles, the wars, the weapons, the brigades or platoons, and nothing about the impact on those experiencing war at home. This work does neither. This is about a woman, by a woman, and it's a wonderful portrayal of the personal difficulties and sacrifices experienced by the Adams. I most heartily recommend it!
