This atlas is designed to help healthcare professionals understand the rationale for prevention and therapy underlying clinical practice. Illustrations show how disease disrupts the human body's equilibrium and how pathology develops and progresses in more than 150 diseases. Each section briefly covers fundamentals of normal anatomy and physiology before discussing the pathophysiology. Cellular pathology, cancer, infection, immune and genetic disorders and fluid and electrolyte imbalance are covered.

This is the easiest to follow, best written pathophysiology book I've ever seen. I wish I had this book in school, I have since lent it to 2 people and both have purchased one for themselves. It is easy to follow, 1 page has the disease process, treatments, and symptoms the opposing page has the diagram, simple enough for the non-medical population to follow!

I LOVE this book. Just as the first reviewer, I WISH I had had this book from Semester One of my college career. Beautiful, clear illustrations. Organized, easy to understand text. I'm thrilled to have this book. It's a 'Keeper.'

I used this book in Nursing School, and found it very helpful. When I couldn't really understand the patho of a certain disease I would turn to this book. The pictures and explanations are very straight forward and helped greatly.

This is a fantastic reference for any medical student. Including nursing students. The pictures are great! I only wish I had found it my furst semester of nursing school. This book helps in explaining the why and the how of a disease. The book is broken down into each system of the body. Easy to read and very helpful. This would make a great gift for anyone who will be attending medical school.
