Active Server Pages 2.0 Unleashed has been completely revised to answer the needs of the intermediate/advanced ASP 2.0 user. The book has been refocused to provide detailed coverage of the core... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Although it's not the only ASP book I have, it's the one I return to again and again. This book is for people who who need the basic nuts and bolts explained so that they can begin to think more like a programmer. It would seem some reviewers of this book are more interested in proving how much they know, rather than giving this book the credit it deserves. It's well written..not too techy, but not a 'For Dummies' either. A great first book to get involved with making ASP pages.
The best book on ASP

I have bought just about any book that I could find on ASP. I have tried and used most of the WROX bboks and I have found that this book is the best to understand and use. I have recommended that the company that I work for buy it for all of our developers. You will not go wrong buying this book.
ASP Unleashed

I rated this book with 5 stars because now I can confidently say I can work with ASP. I had no prior knowledge of VBScript, SQL or other Server side programming languages like CGI or perl. It starts with the basics of ASP and quickly leads you to building your own scripts. The codes given are not complete programs so you have to go step by step from the 1st chapter thus building your knowledge from the ground up. Later advanced technologies like MTS and DNA are explained in a simple manner thus not confusing you. Also present is an introduction to future technologies like Win2000 with IIS5.0 and ASP3.0Highly recommened book.
THE BEST ASP BOOK

Undoubtedly it is one of the best books available on ASP. It gives you complete understanding of what ASP is all about. It can start you going right away, you can build your own website once you go through this book. It gives you an indepth knowledge about ASP and it also deals with COM in ASP, (though not in depth).A must for Novices and Intermediates.
Great book for a big topic

I like how the book points out alternative approaches to achieving a goal, as well as offering advice on when to choose one path versus another. There are some annoying grammar errors (since when is "outputted" a word? Lots of nits like this throughout), but my experience is that its next to impossible to find high-quality editing in tech books...traditional editors must just get lost in technical jargon and give up. For an experienced programmer, the book is an easy read, and covers a whole lot of ground. Unlike some of the other large tech books I've read, this one isn't bloated...I found virtually every section useful. I would have preferred to see the scripting focus more on Java Script and less on VB Script, but that's just personal preference. Most programmers can easily translate between the two in their head. If you're a programmer, and you only want to buy one book on ASP, I would choose this one.
