This book offers a concise, knowledgeable guide to the laws governing administrative agencies. In straightforward, readable prose, the authors not only summarize the dominant statutes and case law in... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This Nutshell - the 3rd Edition - is getting pretty dated. Nevertheless, it is a good overview of the history and the case law surrounding the development of the APA and administrative law post WWII. The Nutshell series are a good review for black letter law, and fit nicely between casebooks and Emanuel/Gilbert outlines. A good resource for the student or practitioner - but get the newer edition if you intend to use it in practice.

This book was very good at filling in the blanks of what my professor said in class. It really gives you the major insights behind the cases, and I found it helpful to use these insights on the exam. All-around great book.
The Perfect Admin Law Review
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
At first glance, Admin Law is an odd mish-mash of seemingly unrelated doctrines. What in the world does the line-item veto have to do with Standing? What do either of them have to do with Due Process? Nutshell brings it all together. This book does a fantastic job of detailing the trees while simultaneously combining them into a comprehensive forrest. As usual, the Nutshell series manages all of this in a compact way, coming in at just over 400 pages. For most topics, I usually recommend the Crunchtime series as well... Not for Admin Law though. The Nutshell alone is perfect!
Useful book

This book was somewhat useful, but I found it to be not as helpful as a Gilberts Law Summary. The "Nutshell" was, in some places, just as confusing and convoluted as the case book. But it was very helpful in assisting me to understand some of the basic concepts.
The Only Ad Law Book You'll Ever Need

The Administrative Law Nutshell was instrumental to my success in my administrative law class. Gellhorn and Levin (mostly Levin) provide a concise and careful analysis of the often-feared administrative law procedures. The authors provide step-by-step examples and supporting material to help the reader better understand everything from the general principles of administrative law to the dreaded state and local agency procedures. I still keep the Ad Law Nutshell in my office in case of emergencies. A great source for quick and clear answers.
