Introduces analysis, presenting analytical proofs backed by geometric intuition and placing minimum reliance on geometric argument. This edition separates continuity and differentiation and expands coverage of integration to include discontinuous functions.
I used the first edition of this book way back in 1963. It was good for an introduction to real analysis and advanced calculus - not stellar, but I still consult it from time to time. It gives a good account of the Riemann integral, and of Fourier series. The fact that it is still in print, in the 3rd edition, says much for it.
