Cynthia Heimel seduced readers with her runaway bestseller Sex Tips for Girls. Now, in this eagerly awaited follow-up, Heimel takes us on a journey toward romantic enlightenment and finds it's not all that far from midtown. Should you date a man who's on Prozac? Why is "single" a buzzword that makes us feel like killing ourselves? What's so funny about a man in a dress? Why was the panty girdle the straw that broke the back of the patriarchy? What if your son gets married on MTV? Is the Backlash over? Why does the theory of evolution dictate that every human must get laid as much as humanly possible? Entertaining, erudite, and always irreverent, Heimel's manifesto is a must-have for the twenty-first-century female.
Cynthia Heimel's latest is long overdue: it's sort of a sequel to her 1983 Sex Tips for Girls and sort of a sequel to her other books -- part of the ongoing series of observations and gags and wisdom and wit and goofiness that is her body of work. In this new book she's as hysterical as ever, but some of the humor is heightened (or deepened) by more genuine pain than her earlier stuff. Somehow she manages to get through the most difficult moments -- the implosion of a marriage, the death of a wonderful dog -- with her voice intact, and her head battered but unbowed. Problem Lady -- always a high point -- returns.
Hilarious and true. And did I mention hilarious?

Cynthia Heimel has done it again. I have been a fan ever since the original Sex Tips For Girls, and she just keeps getting better. While this book is every bit as funny as her earlier books (maybe funnier), it also has an element of soulfulness beyond what we've seen from her before, which makes it even more wonderful than I was expecting.Highly recommended!
Cynthia Heimel, every girl's best girlfriend

Cynthia Heimel writes the way real women I know talk about sex, love, relationships, marriage, and yes, dogs. I think she's as insightful and hilarious as ever. Like the original Sex Tips For Girls, her essays make me admire her attitude and aspire to her fabulousness.
How does she do it?

Cynthia Heimel makes me snicker knowingly right out loud in public. She's wise, witty, pointed, and pulls no punches. Oh, and did I mention that she's funny? Especially her alter ego, Problem Lady? I recognized people I know on almost every page of this book. I may force my boyfriend to read it. If it doesn't terrify him, it will almost definitely give us lots to talk about.
Heimel Manifesto

I've loved Cynthia Heimel ever since someone brought a copy of _Sex Tips for Girls_ to a party and all the women ended up in a bedroom, reading it out loud. Since then, I've owned multiple copies of all her books because I keep giving them away. This new book is a gift. It's funny, it's poignant, it's kooky. This book has the same clear-eyed, hilarious and moving view of relationships you find in her other books. It's pure Heimel.
