A very good read about a woman's trials and tribulations. Ms. Ketcham's writing is honest, loving, heartbreaking, funny and a lot more - all at the same time. Her style makes you feel like she is right there with you sharing life over a cup of coffee. It's to be enjoyed by both males and females. I would recommend it to teens as well as adults.

I bought Kellie's book mostly because we grew up near each other. However, we lost contact 30 years ago. Basically, I wanted to find out what she's been up to and if she could really write. I don't like to read. I don't have the time to read. But, I once I started, I could NOT put her book down until I finished! To top it all off, not only did I discover that Kellie could write, but she could write good! She caused me to fall in love with her and the people she writes about. At various times while reading "Advancing Backward", I cried, I laughed, I cheered her on, and I prayed for her and her children. I also learned a lot about how to raise my own child and be prepared for the unexpected. At the end of her book I felt like we were best friends, and I craved more. I can't wait until she writes another book. Good job Kellie, I hope your book makes a lot of money for your charity [...]

This book can be enjoyed by all readers. It is very easy to connect with the book. There are both funny stories and incredibly heartbreaking stories. The story invokes all emotions of the heart. Ultimately you are left inspired by one womans courage, sense of humor and gratitude for embracing life and what it has to offer to the fullest. I will be looking forward to reading more books this author writes.

Everyone has good times and hard times in their lives. I wish that I had the ability to write my thoughts and share my stories as Kellie has in this book - she made me laugh - I could hear her voice in my head as she tells the story. She also made me cry. Everyone should read this moving tribute about one woman's struggles, passions, joy and perserverance. Thanks Kellie.

This book was not at all what I expected. It is a heart-wrenching as well as heart-warming read. I found myself sniffling through the sad parts and cheering for Kellie as she worked her way through the tough times. A real bargain book. At the end you are left waiting for the sequel.
