I purchased this book for my eight year old son and I to read. I wanted him to know that there are many African American heroes besides Martin Luther King, Jr. It reads well and we both enjoy it. I only had one very small correction--Aretha Franklin was born in Memphis, TN and not Detroit, MI. Sorry but I am a BIG Aretha fan. Thanks for the book.

This is an excellent book to teach children about Black History. I recommend it to parents, families, enrichment programs and schools.
