This is a good book for anyone with a family member or friend who is an alcoholic because it answers all the basic questions a person may have, such as: What is alcoholism, Who are alcoholics, Why do alcoholics drink, & Why is Alcoholism called a family disease. It explains how Alateen can help and gives very thorough information in case someone wonders if they might want to be involved in Alateen. It explains the twelve step approach, how to find or start an Alateen group, plan a meeting, etc.
