Women everywhere feel pressured to have perfect Christian lives, perfect family lives, and to look perfect in their jeans. Instead of feeling good about themselves, most of them just feel like tired supergirls, living in the gap between who they are and who they long to be.
Susanna Foth Aughtmon honestly confesses her battles with pride, worry, fatigue, beauty, jealousy, and chocolate. In every chapter she faces a nemesis--like Worry Man or Mrs. Prideful--who implies that she is not living up to her potential. She meets each enemy with the secret weapon of God's Truth. Readers will identify with her humorous examples from daily life and will gain insight from this tired supergirl on her journey of grace.
A solid memoir for the reader who wants Jesus to remain important when so many others forget Him

Perfection is a goal that is always wanted yet is so far away and hard to obtain. "All I need is Jesus & A Good Pair of Jeans" is the memoir of a woman of the world making her way as a young Christian in a world that doesn't seem to want to facilitate her goals in any way. Telling her story by measuring her own shortcomings and trying to inspire other young women to overcome their own limits as people and as Christians, "All I Need is Jesus & A Good Pair of Jeans" is a solid memoir for the reader who wants Jesus to remain important when so many others forget Him.

I so enjoyed reading this book, and wished I had been able to read it in the midst of my years at home with children. I laugh out loud at parts, find myself reading bits of it to whomever comes by, and now plan to order copies to give away. I highly recommend this book!
A Wonderful Treasure!

I received this book by happen-stance. It was recommended to me, I thought I didn't have time, it popped into my life again, I wanted to, but didn't have time...then I won it in a contest...that is right it insisted I read it! It is well written on so many levels. The author has melody in her words, as well as classic talent and skill. She is a smart writer, who doesn't talk down to you...I love that! Her words are funny, funny and true! She gives interpretations of bible verses, that frankly I had trouble understand on my own, but she doesn't "dumb it down", she show you the meaning in a smart, funny way you can relate to. She wants you too see, despite all your human-ness, you are valuable, and you deserve to know that. This book not only taught me things I should have already known, it made me want to be a better friend, a closer friend, and a better person...not because I have to be, not because I should be...because I already am, all I have to do is realize it. Five stars all around, and a must-give gift to my friends!
Prepare to be Encouraged

I couldn't put this book down. The author writes about the reality of everyday struggles with refreshing honesty and humor. Anyone who reads this book will go away from it encouraged. This truly is a great book to start the new year and pick back up again when life pushes you down. Aughtmon definitely captures the voice and hearts of women. That is not to say her work only appeals to women. After finishing the book, I went to find it again, and it was on my husband's nightstand.
A great read for ANY day!

I just started the book and I love the way the author is so real and vulnerable about who she is. I have already been encouraged by her words and at the same time, relieved that I am not alone! She presents issues of her own, that I identify with.
