All the pretty girls vanish one by one... Return to the riveting start of the Taylor Jackson series by New York Times bestselling author J.T. Ellison with a heart-pounding case of murder, intrigue, and lies buried deep.
After a local girl turns up dead, Nashville Homicide lieutenant Taylor Jackson is determined to catch the serial rapist responsible for the crime. Called "The Southern Strangler," this sadistic killer is slaughtering young women throughout Southeast, leaving a gruesome memento at each crime scene--the prior victim's severed hand. Taylor finds herself in a joint investigation with her lover, FBI profiler Dr. John Baldwin, as they pursue the vicious murderer.
Ambitious TV reporter Whitney Connolly is certain the Southern Strangler is her ticket out of Nashville; she's got a scoop that could break the case. But she has no idea how close to this story she really is--or what it will cost her.
Battling an old injury and her own demons, Taylor is desperate to quell the rising tide of bodies. But as the killer spirals out of control, everyone involved must face a horrible truth--the purest evil is born of private lies.
Previously Published. Read the Taylor Jackson Series by J.T. Ellison: Book 1: All the Pretty Girls Book 2: 14 Book 3: Judas Kiss Book 4: The Cold Room Book 5: The Immortals Book 6: So Close the Hand of Death Book 7: Where All the Dead Lie
I love the Taylor Jackson series. I'm on book 4 now. Before I realized it was a series, I fell into the world of Taylor Jackson and I haven't been able to stop reading all the books. Each book tells her story and another story of a serial killer. I recommend starting with the 1st book and follow through that way, her storyline stays in tact. Highly recommend!

always kept me turning page and me sitting on the edge. Writer never left scene from one chapter to the other. Loved every minute of this spine tingling novel.

Great cover. Interesting premise. Lots of good reviews.
Horrible book.
Why? Because I was bored and skipped through pages and pages of inner monologues, life stories, and descriptions of the police department hierarchy. Because the characters are flat, their relationships meaningless, and I didn't give a hoot about them. Because whoever edited it was drunk or asleep and let simple grammatical errors slide through. Because it was repetitive, and the subplots were completely pointless. Because of the endless head hopping.
For this, it earned one star. The only reason I gave a second star is because I did want to know the killer's motivation (not enough to continue reading page by page; I actually skimmed the last quarter of the book), and there was a decent twist at the end. But it wasn't enough to redeem Ellison; I will not be reading any more of her books.
Strong and memorable debut

This is a strong and memorable debut introducing Nashville Homicide Lt. Taylor Jackson. The story develops through complex forensic and evidentiary details which keep the reader attentive and involved. By tracking down not only a serial killer but a serial rapist at the same time, it is clearly apparent that she is a tough, intelligent and dedicated cop. I sincerely hope that Taylor Jackson has a long and productive career... and that we get to read about each and every case.
Terrific debut.

I picked up this little gem at my favorite local wholesale club after reading the cover and thinking the storyline was right up my alley. It grabbed my attention from the begining and took off like wild fire. Mrs.Ellison's expressionable writing brought life to Taylor and John Baldwin (but hey, why does she keep calling him "Baldwin"? I don't call my husband by his last name, even when we were dating ???). I enjoyed all the interactions between the characters - even though there were quite a few, it was still an easy story to follow. I look forward to her next book(s) and can't wait to read more of Taylor and John, er, Baldwin. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good fast-paced thriller.
Couldn't put it down!

All The Pretty Girls by J.T. Ellison is one of those books that you had better not start unless you have the time to sit and read, because I guarantee, once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down until you have read that final, wonderful word! The characters and the story line will suck you in until the only bad thing about finishing the book is that you'll wish you had more time with them! Set in Nashville and wandering all over the southeast, this criminal stays one step ahead of everybody until the very end, and the twists and turns in the characters' lives make them so real, you will want to pick up the phone and call them to make sure they are okay! Fantastic job for this debut author! Can't wait for more!
Delicious tension

I stayed up very late to finish this book - it's a great read. JT Ellison has a good feel for Nashville and populates the city with fascinating characters. Her protagonists are honest, decent people who put their lives on the line because they believe in what they are doing. The snapshot moments we have with the victims make us agonize over their perils and bemoan their deaths, but even the bad guys have their own sad appeal. Ellison juggles sub-plots like a much more experienced writer - her parallel stories create delicious tension. And I found the ending touching and heart-breaking . . . after my heart stopped pounding! It's a book rich in detail and character, humor and tension, warmth and chills. I can't wait for Taylor Jackson's next case!
