Great All-Nighter!

From start to finish I was hooked! There was a lot of mystery to it and until the end you didn't know who was doing what, and if you are into whodunit type books, this is it. Another thing I liked about the book was the little bit of romance that was tossed in, as well. I literally could not put the book down until it was finished.
Suspenseful Thriller...

After reading this book, I found out that it was a sequel to a previous book, "If She Only Knew." This book did fine as a stand alone though. We learn that the main character, Cissy's mother is (or was) serving time in prison for murder and was crazy. This book picks up 10 years later after her mother has just escaped from prison. The murders soon begin piling up and the clues could lead anywhere. The book moves quickly and at times is reminiscent of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. It was full of surprises, twists and turns. All in all, a good, fast read.
Review of "Almost Dead" by Lisa Jackson

This book really dragged at first. It took about 120 pages to get through the first murder, of "Gran", but after that things really picked up and then it was a real spellbinder. I keeps you guessing about the true identity of the murderer.
A Solid 5 Stars

"Almost Dead" is a sequel to "If She Only Knew", where Cissy was still a teenager. I was told that "Hot Blooded" and "Cold Blooded" were numbers 2 & 3 in the set but those could be read out of sequence. I've read them all and loved them all. Lisa Jackson is becoming one of my favorite romantic-suspense authors. The book caught my attention with the prologue and held me till the last page. There are plenty of twists and turns; some you know are coming and others will catch you by surprise. I definitely recommend this book!
