I haven't read this book in a long time but I loved it so much when I read it, that it has stayed in my mind all these years and I just purchased it so I can have it forever. It a wonderful story about a beautiful woman in medevil france (I think). She is taken as a spoil of war by a man (Ranulf) who saves her from a much more terrible fate. She has trouble trusting her captor but through missunderstandings and evil plots by unscrupulous characters, they prevail. I was very happy that this was my first romance novel and have since, judged all others by it.
