American Illustration brings together the best in American and Canadian illustration art from magazines, newspapers, advertising, books, posters, packaging and animation art. Now in its twelfth year, the respect and enthusiasm from artists, designers, art directors and art lovers for this annual continues to grow. Created by Edward Booth-Clibborn, chairman of the Art Directors Club of Europe, American Illustration 12 adheres to the principle set by its predecessor, European Illustration: to present both well conceived and well executed work from both published and unpublished mediums. Selected by a panel of distinguished jurors, American Illustration 12 takes a hard look at American life today. It presents the views of some of North America's most gifted artists whose talents are continually being stretched by the demands of the varied mass communication mediums. This year's jury, led by Edward Booth-Clibborn, met in New York to carefully choose the work to be included in the book.
