This book is full of documented atrocities committed against southern civilians, by Union soldiers, and with the approval of President Abe Lincoln.
And it didn't just happen in Southern states. Missouri, for instance never left the Union, yet Union General Ewing issued a general order evicting all citizens from several of the southern counties. After the residents left, their homes were looted, and burned...no matter their loyalty. President Harry Truman’s own grandmother’s home was pillaged...his uncle, 14 at the time, was hung and left for dead.
That's history you will never read about in school.
