An Autumn Sunset

Born in 1990, Christopher grew up without any inclining of artistic capabilities until the age of 18 where he, while traveling in the United States was captivated by photographing another culture, very similar to that he had grown up in but still completely different at the same time. It was culture shock and armed with a simple DSLR he took his first foray into image making. Focusing on the people of the small farming community he was staying in he created his first project and from this, he endeavored to learn more about photography enrolling in night courses while developing his primary practice and slowly taking it more seriously. It was after this time at the age of 22 where Christopher took his first serious steps into photography. Having worked previously on a project of street photography throughout the United Kingdom, he was selected by a panel of judges to be exhibited at the prestigious Brighton Photo Fringe Biennal. From this, he would further develop his practice with the ultimate consideration of becoming a professional photographer. Enrolling in the degree program at Southampton Solent University Christopher quickly established his developing practice and used his time there to develop further and hone his abilities. Creating further bodies of workcalled Advertendo, Subconscious Appearance and for his final major project this piece, An Autumn Sunset. A unique collaborative piece with the poetry of American poet Edith Wharton.
