The Ultimate Buying Guide to America's Most Popular and Accessible Wines The first guide to buying wine that grades the top-selling premium wines in stores and restaurants: popular supermarket brands,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Andrea Immer, unlike certain other wine critics, focuses on what you can actually find in stores and what most people can afford to spend on a bottle of wine. For that she should be thanked. She rarely misses the mark with her reviews and all are concise and helpful. You won't find the finest wines in the world from this book but you will find a constant stream of good to very good wines that will fit every party, wine tasting, or any meal you might care to plan. Buy wines from this book and you will not be disappointed. How refreshing to have a non-pretentious American wine critic. Bravo.
Excellent Wine Book

What's good about this book is that a lot of the wines in it are in stores so you can compare the book to what you are about to purchase. It's great that the book is narrowed down to only 400 of the best selling wines in the U.S. I LOVED the categories for best wines for pizza, picnics and other everyday dining experiences. This book is indispensable for anyone who likes to buy good wine for less than fifteen dollars a bottle.
The wine buying guide for me

Finally, a book that makes it easy to select wine. All I want is a list of what tastes good for a good price - this book is it.The wines are ranked by price AND value for the money. I've gotten several selections and they have all been great. Believe it or not, there are wines that go with Mexican and Chinese food. I don't waste money at the wine store any more. Great Job.
Fantastic Pocket Guide to Wine Purchase

Being a real Andrea Immer fan (her book is the best to learn about wine) this book makes the perfect companion to take when purchasing or ordering at the restaurant. Not only are over 400 wines commonly found on wine lists and at retail establishments, but the other helps here on so right on! There is "Best of Lists" "Immer's Top Picks" "The Top 50 Wines You're Not Drinking" "Immersion Course" and "Kitchen Fridge/Countertop Survivor".She brings the confusing world of wine down to ordinary people level in her book and now in this practical wine tool. What I love the best about this is her suggestions, e.g. "You're Invited--Inimpeachable Bottles to Bring to Dinner" and "What to drink with Mexican Food."
