I'm new to wine and have been pouring over the internet and various books to research wine. One particular website I visit stated that Andrea Robinson's 2007 Guide was well worth the purchase. I took the plunge and am glad I did. Andrea's book is a delightful read and is a GREAT help in reviewing common wines that are available at most shops. It comes across as unpretentious and informative. I love the shelf life guide to the various wines. My wife doesn't drink so a longer shelf life is important to me in my purchases. I highly recommend this book.
Great little guide to carry with you everywhere...

I've been a fan of Andrea Robinson for several years after first seeing her on Food Network some time ago. Her wine buying guide is down-to-earth and unpretentious. The wines are grouped into categories and subcategories and each review contains a variety of ratings in addition to a short little blurb about the wine's flavors. It is small enough that I can fit it in my handbag and carry wherever I go. I love that the wines reviewed are from a wide range of prices and most are ones you can find at your local grocery store or packie. I recently discovered a wonderful bottle of Chenin Blanc for $5.50 per bottle, thanks to this guide.
