As a Probation Officer in Calif. I was thrilled to read an accurate account of what a probation officer does. I have never encountered the personal threats or violence, but I know its always a step away. This is a great read for anyone interested in gangs or the field of probation work.
A heart-wrenching, FABULOUS story for a first time author

As the sister of a female police officer and the Mother of a 7-year old son, this story tugged at my heart as well as making me swell with pride and compassion for all police officers dealing with gang members. Sherrie Board couldn't have done a better job authoring this sad but true story of the struggle(s) our probation and police officers face on a day-to-day basis. I highly recommend this good book to anyone who likes a good mystery read.

This book is an easy read and a good mystery. You want to keep reading to find out what will happen next. The gang references in this book are accurate and you can learn about gang life and gang youth, in addition to being entertained by the story-line.

Glad I took the opportunity to read Ms. Boards first mystery novel. I've been a ardent fan of murder "Who Dun It's" for many years, and not inclined to read first attempts. Her debute into the world of intrigue and suspense proved not only successful as a novel, but educational for the reader. She did a fine job keeping her readers jumping from one suspect to another, and her heroine manages to capture a genuine personality with both flaws and strengths. I look forward to Ms. Boards sequel to Angels of Anguish, and know we're in for many great pages of female sleuthing. My "Congratulation" on what I'm sure will me a great success for your first Mystery Novel.
