A very contradictory book. It is just complex and confusing enough to help you make your decision - if computer science is for you or not. If you decided to engage yourself with programming - don't expect things to be always served to you on a silver plate, because most of the time they aren't in the real world. The book attempts to make the first leap into the real-life programming needs. Not for an absolute beginner, probably for a university student in computer science department who can explain why he/she chose the computer science major in the first place. My biggest complain is that the pages fall out easily.
