Excellent study guide!

This book has an amazing number of examples and practice problems with solutions. There are summaries at the end of every chapter with handy formulas. It's in an outline format, very useful for self-study or guided study with a tutor or group. Drawbacks: no illustrations and somewhat dry & dense text, but it's kind of like a bottle of vitamins - better taken a few a day than all at once! If you're looking for 'fun' books on this topic, try "Math Smart" (Lerner) or "Conquering Math Phobia" (Clawson), which cover essentially the same material.
